1. Overview

BIM Specialist is an Autodesk Revit desktop add-in. This policy describes the information used by the add-in and the purposes for which it is used.

2. Autodesk account and entitlement

For paid features and trials, BIM Specialist reads the identifier of the Autodesk account currently signed into Revit and sends that identifier together with the Autodesk Marketplace App ID to the Autodesk Marketplace Entitlement API. This request is used only to determine whether the signed-in Autodesk user is entitled to use paid or trial features. BIM Specialist does not require a separate BIM Specialist account for Marketplace licensing.

Room and schedule information is processed locally on the user's computer to perform requested commands. BIM Specialist does not upload Revit models, rooms, schedules, or exported Excel files to the publisher's servers.

4. Locally stored information

The add-in may store user-interface and export preferences, a local device identifier, cached entitlement status and last-verification time, applicable offline-grace information, and local import-history records. This information supports settings persistence, licensing, and workflow history.

Purchases, trials, renewals, and payment information are handled by Autodesk Marketplace and its payment providers. BIM Specialist does not receive or store payment-card information.

The add-in contacts Autodesk Marketplace for entitlement verification. It may contact the BIM Specialist licensing service to retrieve non-personal product configuration, such as available plan descriptions. BIM Specialist does not sell personal information.

Local BIM Specialist information can be removed by uninstalling the add-in and deleting its local settings folder. Autodesk Marketplace account, purchase, and entitlement records are governed by Autodesk's privacy and retention policies.

Reasonable technical measures are used to limit licensing communication to its stated purpose. No method of electronic communication or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
